Where we work

The WateRice project is implemented in irrigated and rainfed environment. The work is focused in Region 2, 3 and 6 for irrigated rice production system while focusing on Region 1, 6 and 12 to mitigate the risk and improving the rice yield in rainfed environments.

The Cagayan Valley (Region 2) and Central Luzon (Region 3) have the largest irrigated area in the country while the Western Visayas (Region 6) brings opportunities to test the comprehensive solutions both in irrigated and rainfed environment. To capture the agroclimatic variability, Illocos and Soccsksargen regions are selected to improve the rice yield in rainfed environment.
