WateRice is a collaborative project among the following:
WateRice is one of the programs supporting DA’s Food Staples Sufficiency Program which aims to provide interventions at both national and local levels to support rice production..
DA- Regional Offices (Regions 1,2, 3, 6 and 12)
Regional field offices (RFO), with guidance from PhilRice, oversee all field activities. RFOs coordinate with their respective Local Government Units (LGU), to ensure field activities in monitoring sites are implemented.
Regional field offices of the project sites will implement field activities. Specially in the rainfed areas, they will lead in the coordination with the Local Government Units (LGU) and Farmer’s Association.
The Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) is one of the staff bureaus of the DA which was established to lead and coordinate the national agriculture and fisheries research and development (R&D) in the country.
DA-BAR provides the funding support for the project.
PhilRice is partner agency in leading and implementing the project. They are involved in all activities and lead the coordination with the regional offices.
NIA provides active advisory role and assists in the identification of Irrigator’s Association and CIS community sites for the implementation of the project. The agency is also the potential implementers and end-users of the products of the project.
DA - BSWM provides active advisory role and assists in the identification of Farmer’s Association and SSIS community sites for the implementation of the project. The agency is also the potential implementers and end-users of the products of the project.
FreakLabs Inc. provides technical support in the development of AutoMonPH wireless connectivity and system reliability.
